Can You See Other People’s Transactions on Cash App?

Unlike what other sources online say, you CAN see other people’s transactions on Cash App.

However, you CAN’T see the transaction history of just anyone and everyone.

I mean, would you want random people checking what you’re spending money on? I know I wouldn’t.

Cash App isn’t at all like Venmo (or other similar apps) which has a “news feed” of transactions made by friends/family and is dubbed a “social payment app”.

With Cash App…

The ONLY people who you can see transactions for (aside from yourself obviously) are people you’ve sent money to or received money from on Cash App.

Of course, you can’t see ALL of their transactions either.

Just the ones you were directly involved with (sorry creepers).

Maybe Cash App should be dubbed an “introvert payment app”?

So some good news…

If you’re concerned with privacy, you don’t need to worry about friends/family or random people seeing what you’re up to with Cash App.

Below is how you can see the transaction history of people you’ve sent money to or received money from using Cash App:

Using the App:

  • Step 1: Open Cash App and log in to your account.
  • Step 2: Tap the search icon near the bottom right corner of the app.
  • Step 3: Either search for the person/business you’re looking for at the top or scroll to the bottom and manually find them and then tap on their name.
  • Step 4: After tapping their name you should see a “Your history” section near the bottom of the page which is where you’ll see any previous transactions you have had with that person.

Using the Website:

  • Step 1: Go to the Cash App website and log in to your account.
  • Step 2: Click on the “Activity icon/link” on the left if it doesn’t default to it.
  • Step 3: Use the search field at the top of the page to search for a person you sent money to or received money from. Then click on their name.
  • Step 4: The following page should show you any past transactions you’ve had with that person in the “Your History” section.

Does Cash App Have Statements?

Yes, Cash App has statements similar to a bank that can be viewed on the app or through the Cash App website.

These statements can be pretty useful too.

Especially if you need proof of income if you’re being paid through Cash App (as just one example).

You can also download and print these statements which is nice if you need to give someone a copy (I show how briefly).

Does Your Bank Statement Show Who You Sent Money to With Cash App?

It depends…

I know saying “it depends” isn’t really an answer but it’s the truth.

Some banks don’t show any specific info about Cash App transactions while others show all of the details including who you sent money to (their $cashtag), and how much you sent.

Unfortunately, there really is no way for you to know how it will show up on your bank statement until you send money to someone.

So if you’re worried about it, send a test transaction to someone and then take a look at your bank statement and see what it shows.

At least then you’ll know.

Otherwise, you can also just transfer money to Cash App from your bank account.

Once the money is in your Cash App account, than send it to the person you want to send it to.

That way your bank statement will only show a transfer to Cash App and nothing else.

Can I Delete or Hide My Cash App History?

Despite what some sites (or YouTube videos) like to tell you, you can’t delete your Cash App history.

They are ALL full of BS.

The ONLY way to delete your Cash App history is to fully delete your Cash App account (and even then, Cash App likely keeps records of it).

You also can’t “hide” your Cash App history.

Not because of a limitation with Cash App, but because you don’t NEED to hide it.

Unlike Venmo (and other similar apps), Cash App transactions are private by default and always will be.

Wrapping Up – How to Check Your Cash App History

  • You can check your Cash App history by tapping the “clock icon” in the bottom right corner and searching for whichever transactions you’re looking for (by scrolling or by using the search bar).
  • You can see other people’s transactions but only people that you have sent money to or received money from. You can ONLY see those specific transactions and not the full transaction history.
  • You can view, download, and print your Cash App statement. This is useful, especially for anyone who needs to prove income history and is paid using Cash App.
  • Your Cash App transactions may or may not show up on your bank statement and may or may not show details. It just depends on the bank you use. It’s best to test this if you’re concerned about it by sending a test transaction to someone and checking how it shows up.
